Epson Stylus D88 Plus Review
The Epson Stylus D88 Plus may fall into the category of budget inkjet printers, but the print quality and speed is far from budget. High quality printouts combine perfectly with quick printing, low ongoing costs thanks to four separate D88 Epson printer cartridges, and a compact design. The design of the D88 Plus is one of a sleek and contemporary printer in silver and black and is as slim as you would expect from modern consumer products. The final result is an impressively light 4.2kg package.

Resolution And Printing Speed
5,760 x 1,440 is the optimised dpi and print speed is measured at 14 pages per minute colour text, 22 pages per minute black text, and ten 6 inch by 4 inch pictures at around 90 seconds. These figures are reminiscent of the more expensive "bigger" Epson Stylus and other Epson models.

Replacing Epson Ink Cartridges
Ink is contained within four colour dependent cartridges rather than a single cartridge. With a single cartridge it becomes expensive to replace the entire cartridge when you have only dried one colour. The Epson D88 Plus is, therefore, much cheaper to run in terms of buying ink cartridges.

The Problem With DuraBrite Epson Inkjet Cartridges

One possible way around this is using high quality third party Epson compatible ink cartridges instead. These are also a lot cheaper in the majority of cases.

The Epson D88 Plus is an impressive printer that follows in the footsteps of the D78 and the D68 before it. However, it offers as much quality in print as the more expensive and more advanced Epson printers on the market; not bad for a printer from the budget range. A good-looking design, cheap ink replacement method, and flexibility in print types make the D88 Plus a really good buy.
