The Epson DX4850, like its little brother the Epson DX4800, is dubbed as being a budget but quality combination printer. As well as providing colour printing from your computer and direct from memory cards it is also a fully functioning flatbed scanner and a full colour photocopier. It is an excellent addition to any home or home office and will also serve the small business owner particularly well. As a budget printer the Epson DX4850 costs a still surprisingly low £80 or less, a similar price to the equally good DX4800 and with quicker printing speeds.

The Benefits Of The Epson DX4850


The biggest difference between the DX4800 and the Epson DX4850 is that the DX4850 offers slightly quicker printing capabilities. In economy mode, the most suitable setting for single colour text printing, it can attain speeds of 20 pages per minute, which is one or two pages more than the DX4800. Both printers can print directly from memory cards and both utilise four separate ink cartridges to help reduce your ongoing costs even further.

You only need to replace these cartridges as they empty. In contrast a single four-colour cartridge would need completely replacing when you have run out of just one colour. This can prove particularly costly if you print a lot of black text.
