Epson DX6000 Review


Epson released three new budget combination printer lines in the shape of the DX4000, DX5000, and DX6000 lines. The DX6000 is the top specification of all of these models, but still available at under £100, which is impressive when you look at the list of features, functions, and benefits on offer. As a combination printer the Epson Stylus DX6000 offers excellent photo quality printing as well as a flatbed scanner and colour photocopier. Four separate ink cartridges reduce the cost of replacing ink while the introduction of an LCD monitor is especially beneficial if you want to take advantage of the memory card reader and print without using your computer.

Epson Stylus DX6000 Design


The design is slightly different as well. The DX6000 is presented in a clean and crisp looking black and sliver design, as a pose to the cream printers before and below it. It is also slightly smaller and lighter than its counterparts. Single colour text printing takes a minute to print 27 pages while a 10cm by 15cm photograph is printed in slightly less than thirty seconds.

Colour Photocopier And DuraBrite Ink


The colour photocopier offers similar speeds for copying text and, of course, you get the same excellent quality of printout. All new Epson inkjet printers come with several features that truly add to the value of purchasing an Epson Stylus printer. DuraBrite ink is high quality ink that is fade and water resistant for up to 100 years. The DX6000 can present excellent quality photographs for a printer of any price, but especially for a budget printer costing under £100.

Separate Epson Ink Cartridges


Accompanying the DuraBrite benefit is the fact that instead of using a single cartridge to hold all four colours, Epson now use separate ink cartridges for each colour - black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. The result of this is that you only pay for ink that you actually use because you only replace the cartridge belonging to the colour your have actually used up.

Saving Money On Ink


The colour photocopying and photograph printing will, as you would expect, drain the ink from your cartridges quite quickly in the Epson Stylus DX6000. The result is that you will need to find cheap Epson ink cartridges in order to keep the costs of printing and copying down. However, that can be easily done in one of two ways.
