Review
The Epson DX6050 combines the features and usefulness of a colour photograph printer with a flatbed scanner and photocopier. The DX6050 can work completely independently of your computer for printing pictures and for photocopying. A 2-inch LCD preview screen can be found on the top of the unit and because the DX6050 enables you to add your memory cards directly to the printer this means you can select a picture and print it without even having to turn your PC on. Similarly, the controls for the photocopier can be found on the printer itself and menus are displayed on the screen. Again, this means you can photocopy without having your computer turned on.

Printing Features And Speeds

Printing speeds have been improved from previous incarnations of the Epson Stylus printer series. The DX6050 offers 27 pages per minute for single or multi coloured text printing. 90 nozzles per colour and the use of MicroPiezo printing technology mean that printouts and photocopies are optimised to achieve the most desirable results and the greatest quality available. Four separate ink cartridges, one for each colour black, magenta, cyan, and yellow, are used in place of one cartridge for all colours. This will save you money when replacing used cartridges because you only replace what you need to.

Photographic Printing On The DX6050

Photographs can be printed up to A4 size without a border on your page making it a very good photographic printer in this respect. The DuraBrite ink that is usually shipped with the Epson DX6050 printer is fade and water resistant for up to 100 years, although we haven't personally confirmed that as yet. It will also accept paper, envelopes, letterhead, and glossy photographic paper. The 2-inch monitor further compounds the value of the Epson DX6050 as being a superb photographic printer, especially for the money. If you are looking for a multi purpose printer that can easily cope with high quality photograph printing then the DX6050 is a very good choice.
