The Epson DX5000 is a multipurpose printer, also known as an all-in-one or combination printer. This means that as well as being a colour inkjet photographic printer it also offers the functions of a flatbed scanner and of a colour photocopier. This combination makes it an excellent choice for home users, home office users, and small business users. Medium to large business users may benefit more from the purchase of separate laser printers and colour photocopiers. The DX5000 is similar in a lot of ways to its predecessors, the DX3000 and DX4000 series but with a few beneficial changes.

Epson DX5000 Printing Speed


Most notable of the differences is the increase in printing speed. While the DX4000 might struggle to better 20 pages per minute of single colour text printing, the Epson Stylus DX5000 can muster up 27 pages per minute. Despite this the Epson DX5000 still only costs £90 or less making it a superb investment that will save money and time in the long run. Four separate ink cartridges also make it more cost effective than similarly priced printers by other brands because you only need to change the ink you use.

Photocopying Speed And Photograph Printing


The colour copier can copy 27 pages per minute of black text, and only drops to 26 pages per minute for colour text. A 10 by 15 photo will print in slightly less than half a minute making it a reasonable printer for printing and copying speeds. There is no LCD screen, which means you would be best printing photographs through your computer or printing an index card and deciding on the images you want printed using that sheet.
